Meet Kate!
Kate is the editor-in-charge at Hatch My House. We thank her for keeping our blog interesting – full of wit, humor and insight into the world of weddings, home and everything in between.
I’m a news editor by day and a DIY decorator in my spare time. I’ve written about everything from property/casualty insurance to the hottest new cocktails in Boston and I’m so excited to be a part of the HMH team!
I love old-home charm meshed with clean, modern touches. I dream of owning a fixer-upper with a massive porch, high ceilings, white trim and one of those robot vacuums … but right now I’d settle for the Roomba (I have cats).
I have a thing for orange. And ever since I installed the coffee cup holder on my bike, morning commutes to the office are much more enjoyable.
I recently picked up trail running when I realized it was so much faster to run around in the woods than to drag a 25-pound mountain bike with me. Plus, I swear a lot less when I’m not crashing into rocks and streams. (I think Mother Nature and my boyfriend appreciate that.)
Some might call me a lush since my fridge is full of fancy beer, but I’m not. I’m just dating a beer snob. And I can’t throw a party without serving a signature cocktail. (Tip: Cucumber Martinis are nice in theory, but not when you have to muddle all those damn cukes!)
I haven’t convinced my boyfriend to propose quite yet, but you can bet I’ll be blogging about it when I do! And then hopefully I’ll be able to hatch my own house!
